After a 14 day trial run. it is now official.

We are changing, and we want all our old players with us!

So if you want still play with us. follow this guide to get your minecraft up and running tekkit 2.1.1.

First you need to download the tekkit launcher. There is one for Windows, And one for Linux / Mac.

When you have it downloaded, You right click the file, and press Run as Administrator.

The launcher will now update itself. let it do this, sit back and relax.
When it is done. you click the “Technic” icon and change it to “Tekkit”. This is the multiplayer version of the pack, and will make you able to connect to the new server!

You then launch the game, Go into Multiplayer and write this IP in.

This is the official TheLegendofMinecraft ip from now on.
This means the old server, Will move to a smaller computer, i cant promise it allways will be up. But it wont be destroyed, or forgotten.

This will be a little recap on what have happened on the TheLegendofMinecraft, Small things and big things. i will try to recap this as far as i can remember.

Many of our players do not know the story behind the server.  This will change now.

Exactly one year and 25 days ago me, Pikabuu and Wukiii where sitting at my home, Playing alot of different games at at small lan event. I had major computer problems those days. My computers mainboard burned the same night we started playing, so in the late evening i took out my laptop and asked if we shouldnt find a game that did not use as many resources as the other games we played. The days before i had scoured the net for new games, and had stumpled across a game called Minecraft. This game became the game of choice for the evening and me and pikabuu joined a random server on the internet. First time playing. We had so much fun, We where building a small house by a lake. Made a mine. and everything went smoothly the first 5 hours. and we could not stop playing. As i remember it Wukiii where playing some kind of other game in the background, but became more and more interested in what we where up to.
As we hit the late hours, The server suddenly crashed. and we could not connect to that server anymore.
So there we where. used so much time. had so much fun. on a server we could not connect to anymore.

So we talked about, What about we start our own server?.. how hard could it be?..
We started up the server on pikabuu´s Pc. And all 3 joined. and we started building. 3 days later we decided this server should be permement on. Let other players share the fun we had.
And people started joining.
Not many people will remember this. Becouse only 3 or 4 players from our first world is still on the server. One of them is longtime admin, Adam1704, One of the first players ever connecting to our server.

Alot happened the first couple of months. We became more popular than i ever thought we would be. we had 10… 15 people on at once! and peaked at 25 people on! this where within the first 4 months! a Survival / Creative server that had one real rule the first couple of months. Have fun! Get to know eachother! and we had so much fun! This where before the word “griefing” had ever been used on TheLegendofMinecraft.

I even remember our first ” griefer”, Can call it a small group as well. it where 2 sisters and thair brother. Kyla07 i think her minecraft name where.
Kyla and her sis had been messing around with everyone on the server. Talking to everyone, naming other people as potential griefers, and people became banned on thair acount.
At this time we thought we could trust everyone that came into the server. We where naive, i know now. But i thought everyone would love to have a little haeven where you could relax, Get some friends. and have some fun with people sharing the same passion. But these 3 people ruined it alot for everyone, and everyone became a suspekt. Untill one day thay startet placing signs, With text where thay came with small quotes on life. “Nature is getting back” – “This flower grows wild” and so on.
The server had been vanilla untill this happened. Bukkit just started up, and the first plugin we installed where called. Signlogger . A tool where you could see who placed the sign.
and Boom. we got them.
Thay where banned. And the server moved on.

The server had fully switched to bukkit within days of this incident.

at one point. a plugin called Multiworld where released to the public, And more worlds came online. And server capacity where upgraded from 1 gb to 2gb. as time went by.

within 7 months the server had a 4gb amount of ram. and untill now. The server have a uptime of 99%. This is in allmost 13months! Something i am still very proud off.
But with more capacity came a bigger and bigger server bill. We topped at 168 dollars a month. and a Donator system where implented.
This where meant as a “thank you” to the person who donated to the server, Do what you have allways wanted to do! build those amazing things you got in your head.
And here major problems started.
As people donated and got thair rank. thay thought thay could bend the rules of the server. Now thay had donated, thay had more power, The rules did not matter to some of these people. 3 donators to this day, have been perm banned from TheLegendofMinecraft. 2 of them i actully trusted.
i wont say any names, But people who where that those day, know these peoples names.

But donations became more and more rare, and about 1 month ago, we had major problems. We had a bill to pay, But noone had donated?. So i went on the server, Asked everyone to donate, if thay had any chance of doing it. If thay did this, i would promise to keep the server alive. and within 1 hour 120dollars had been donated. and i decided i could pay the rest, even if i had to eat spaghetti the rest of the month, and we lived on.

one week ago, from this day. i decided this is to expensive. i had been hearing people tell me this for about 6 months. that it could not cost this much to run a minecraft server. and thay where right.

We are moving to a new host. A host that cost around 1/3 th of the amount jestservers.com takes for the same service.

As i knew we where going to move i began preparing the server. I began downloading around 50gb of minecraft worlds.
and the server where set to a “temp” world where people could hang out, and do whatever thay wanted, while i did what i had to do.

after i got the data, i uploaded it to our host. and startet it up. logged in. and i startet in our world, our seed. But with Nothing build in it. This where the world right after 1.0 with no buildings in it!. and i thought. i must have done something wrong here?. so i uploaded those 7.5gb our main world is again, and again, and again. speaking with the support on the new server to hear if thay had ever heard of something like this. a world, Taken from a working server, copyed 1/1 and placed normally on thair server. Thay had never heard of such a problem, and it sounded like it where my problem to get the world running.
I started the world up in singleplayer on my computer, Everything where normal from my line.
So i took screenshots with the position on the world from my computer, and on the server. And all the mountens where clearly defined. just without buildings in it.
Thay told me to upload it one more time. and promised to look into it.

This is where we are now!.

New host is looking into our problems while you read this. And i hope we will be up within 24hours on the new server.

When everything have moved, We are normalised again, and players begin to join us. then i have a little dream on getting this server running both with the normal minecraft. and the tekkit pack.
This is still a dream, a dream i have researched again and again, and it actully looks like it can happen.
Just need to be sure about this before i put it in.

So thank you all for the great 12 months you guys and girls have given to me and my staff. Looking forward to 12months more
